Revolver ha stilato una classifica delle migliori 30 canzoni rilasciate nel 2016. Direttamente al quarto posto troviamo The Stage:

4. Avenged Sevenfold – “The Stage”
Avenged Sevenfold certainly surprised and impressed fans by dropping a secret album back in October. Their unique campaign turned heads and became an interesting case study within the industry as it was fascinating to see the impact the surprise release had on sales. The title-track is an epic eight-and-a-half-minute song that sees the band getting in touch with their prog influences while still remaining true to their identifying sound.

Gli Avenged Sevenfold hanno certamente sorpreso e impressionato I fans rilascando un album segreto in Ottobre. La loro particolare campagna promozionale ha fatto girare la testa a molti ed è diventata un interessante caso di studio per l’industria (musicale), tanto è stato affascinante vedere l’impatto che questo rilascio a sorpresa ha avuto sulle vendite.  La title-track è una canzone epica della durata di otto minuti e mezzo, che vede la band avvicinarsi ad influenze prog ma rimanendo comunque fedeli al loro sound identificativo.
