4. Avenged Sevenfold – Dear God
Touring isn’t all fun and games, y’know. Well, it is, but when you’re in a band as big as Avenged Sevenfold, traveling across the globe for months – years, even – on end, missing home and crossing ‘another cold state line’ on a tour bus, things can get a bit much. Dear God, the closing track on A7X’s 2007 ‘White Album’, features M. Shadows crooning, ‘Dear God, the only thing I ask of you, is to hold her when I’m not around…’, as he missed his loved ones back home. We’re not crying – we just have something in both of our eyes.

L’essere in tour non è solo divertimento e giochi sai. Beh, lo è,ma quando sei in una grande band come gli Avenged Sevenfold, viaggiando in tutto il mondo per mesi- anni anche- alla fine la mancanza di casa e l’attraversare ‘another cold state line’ (=un altro freddo confine) su un tour bus, le cose iniziano a cambiare e a costare (sentirsi) di più. Dear God, la traccia conclusiva del White Album del 2007 contiene un M. Shadows che canticchia ‘Dear God, the only thing I ask of you, is to hold her when I’m not around…’ (=caro Dio, l’unica cosa che ti chiedo è di tenere a lei quando sono in giro) mentre gli manca la sua amata a casa. Non stiamo piangendo- abbiamo soltanto qualcosa in entrambi gli occhi.
