I nostri colleghi di Avenged Sevenfold Brazilian Fans sono riusciti a trovare la parte della recente intervista di Kerrang! a Steve Harris degli Iron Maiden, in cui si nominano gli Avenged Sevenfold.
“Intervistato per il prossimo numero di Kerrang! (1669) nel backstage del loro Book of Souls tour, Steve Harris ha parlato dello stato del rock nella scena musicale attuale, affermando di essere preoccupato per la mancanza di opportunità delle band emergenti:
“è davvero, davvero difficile. Credo che non sia mai stato così difficile” inizia Steve “ci sono così tante band adesso ma pochi modi di farle “uscire”. Ed è più difficile che mai, adesso, guadagnarsi un piccolo seguito suonando. Provo dispiacere per queste band per molte cose.” E continua “a volte ci vuole solo fortuna e trovarsi nel posto giusto al momento giusto e cose del genere. Devi sempre trovare il modo di continuare a sfondare.”
Harris poi ha dato alcuni meriti a band che secondo lui hanno già superato queste difficoltà: “Gli Avenged Sevenfold sono riusciti a sfondare, i Biffy Clyro sono un’altra band che è arrivata a diventare headliner nei festival. Queste sono le due band che mi sono venute in mente immediatamente. – Anche con noi, per quando finalmente appenderemo le chitarre al chiodo, ti viene da chiedere “chi arriverà e prenderà il loro posto?””

Interviewed for new Kerrang! No. 1669, on backstage of their The Book of Souls tour, Steve Harris (Iron Maiden’s bass guitarist) talked about the current state of rock in the music scene, where he stated to be concerned about the lack of opportunities for young bands on those days:
“It’s very, very tough. I think it’s tougher than ever”, Steve begins. “Now there are so many bands and not so many outlets for it. And it’s tougher than ever to earn a crust doing it, too. I sort of feel sorry for bands in a lot of ways.”
He continues, “Sometimes it’s the luck of the draw, and being in the right place at the right time, and all that kind of stuff. You’ve just got to keep chipping away”. Harris then gave some props to bands who he reckons have overcome the odds. “Avenged Sevenfold have come through, Biffy Clyro’s another one’s that come through to headline festivals. Those two are the ones that spring to mind the most”. “Even with us, if we finally hang the old guitars up, you think, ‘Who’s going to come and take over?‘”
